ENTERTAINMENT ROSTER

Our entertainment roster is inclusive - various types of musicians, comedians (and comediennes), children's entertainers, and even a stage magician and hypnotist.

MUSIC

Shanneyganock Shanneyganock - has 4 Music Newfoundland and Labrador award wins including Entertainers of the Year, as well as a 2008 East Coast Music Award nomination for Roots Group. They have performed in Doha, Qatar; Memphis (Folk Alliance) they've also completed several Cross Canada Tours. Titled Volume VII, their newest disc is available where great folk music is sold Nation wide.

 

8- track favourites8 Track Favorites is a country music band made up of some of the most experienced and accomplished local musicians , including Larry Foley, Patrick Moran, Sandy Morris, Chris LeDrew, Wayne Hynes, and George Morgan. The 8 Track Favorites cover the old time country classics – hit songs from the era of 8 Track players. They play songs from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80.

 

The FablesThe Fables are led by aclaimed Newfoundland musician - Glenn Simmons, who became well known as a member of the Wonderful Grand Band. The Fables offer a head-on fusion of contemporary rock n’ roll with the time-honored traditions of Celtic music. Their new sound and fresh approach have earned them multiple nominations and awards.

 

EnnisEnnis is a dynamic, original group with a unique contemporary voice flavoured by deep roots and celtic traditional influence. They have 7 albums, and are inclued on compilation CDs. They have shared the stage with groups such as the Chieftains and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and have appeared at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, Stan Rogers Folk Festival, Merlefest in North Carolina, and the Cleveland and Pittsburg Irish Festivals.

 

Billy and the Bruisers Billy and the Bruisers, formed in 1991, is a ten piece band from St. John's. Highly professional, these veterans of the music scene have gained a loyal following and have achieved a well deserved reputation as one of the most versatile and entertaining musical acts in eastern Canada. The group's ability to play for audiences of all ages and their musical tastes has made them a popular choice for concerts, festivals, conventions, and special events. The band`s musical repetoire includes some of the best tunes from the 60s through to the present, and includes a dozen original songs from their six albums released to date.

 

Greeley's Reel Greeley's Reel consists of six family members and friends who specialize in playing Irish Newfoundland Music. They are known for their harmonies, and their great mixture of Irish, Newfoundland, Folk, and Bluegrass Music. The have released two CDs and have perfomed at numerous festivals, including the Blueberry Festiveal, the Carbonear Folk Festival, Klondyke Days in Bay Roberts and the George Street Festival. They frequently play at O'Reillys Irish Pub on George Street in St. John's.

 

The PuntersThe Punters (Larry Foley and Patrick Moran) drawing upon their rich musical heritage, combining rock, folk, and traditional music, creating a sound that is truly their own. The Punters are highly energetic and entertaining Newfoundland musicians who have performed hundreds of shows from festivals to theaters to clubs to Microsoft’s first live web-cast on the Internet.

 

Mid-life CrisisMid-life Crisis is a four piece classic rock band from the Conception Bay North area. Formed in 2005, the band has been in steady rotation playing local clubs as well as community and private functions. The band's ever expanding set lists include countless rock anthems from the "Classic Rock" era. Most recently, they were featured at the Cupids 400th Anniversary New Year's Eve Event.

 

The IdelersThe Idlers, formed in 2006, are an 11 piece, self-proclaimed "reggae circus" from St. John's. They feature reggae, ska, and afro-beat, peppered with their Atlantic influences. Ringmaster Mark Wilson fronts a solid rhythm section with heavy horns and tight harmonies. They have been voted "Best Band to Dance To" and "Best Live Band" in The Scope's Best of St. John's Readers' Survey.

 

COMEDY

GregoryGregory Donaghey is a talented performer with decades of experience entertaining large audiences. As a member of the Carlton Showband in the 1970s he brought entertainment to thousands. His memorable characters include "The Laughing Policeman" and "Jake the Peg," leave audiences laughing and asking for more! Today, he brings supurb his voice and a magnificent comedic talent to entertain both children and adults.

 

Amy HouseAmy House is one of Newfoundland´s most talented and prolific comediennes. Her background is theatre; yet, it is through sidesplitting humour that she remains forever known among audiences. She is one hilarious comic, with an irrepressible fondness for improvisation. The darling of the private-party circuit, her flamboyant and colourful characters often pay a visit to conventions, dinner parties, weddings, conferences, and any other gatherings of more than two people.

 

MAGIC AND STAGE HYPNOSIS

Gary Summers has been entertaining audiences in and around Newfoundland for the past 25 years. He captivates audiences of all ages with a wide variety of programs to fit any venue or event, whether its entertainment for just a small number of people or for groups of thousands. As a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Gary keeps up with the latest innovations in magic and even manufacturers several innovative ilusions of his own, selling them to magic dealers all over the world.
